Sebaceous cyst

Many lumps called sebaceous cysts are epidermoid cysts, which contain keratin. Other lumps can resemble them, so examination matters. A confirmed quiet cyst may be observed; pain, inflammation, growth or uncertainty can change the treatment decision.
A lump beneath the skin should not be diagnosed solely from an online description. Note when it appeared, whether it has changed and whether it has drained.
Squeezing or puncturing it at home can cause injury or infection and does not reliably address a cyst wall.
